What is the Kioku Study?
The Kioku Study is a nationwide research study of an investigational drug for mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease. Kioku (pronounced, key-oh-koo) is the Japanese word for “memory.” This name was chosen because the study drug was developed in Japan with the aim of improving memory loss.
The goal of the Kioku Study is to collect good data from patients that will help medical researchers decide whether the study drug is effective and safe in mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease. There will be 326 patients enrolled into this study. The outcome of the Kioku Study will advance our understanding in how to best treat Alzheimer's disease.
